The new city hall benefits city government and the community with the addition of much needed storage space and individual workspaces as well as public lobby space and areas for future museum exhibits.

The building also provides the community with a much needed identity through a classic form while blending with the surrounding area via a rich mixture of building materials.   The building is designed with aesthetics and long term durability in mind.

Exterior features include: masonry cavity wall construction, architectural precast concrete buttresses and accents, pitched roofs with architectural asphalt shingles, tubular steel accents, and sculptural brick panels representing the past and future of North Sioux City.

The interior is dominated by a tall longitudinal atrium/corridor with transom windows, large bowl shaped chandeliers and porcelain tile floors. Seating areas, an exhibit space and meeting rooms flank the entry along the front of the building while city services and offices lie off the opposite side and toward the rear of the structure. A large city council chamber anchors one end of the corridor.

Spaces designated for future use ensure that the facility will serve the needs of the growing community well into the future.
